藝術家王懷慶特別借題自老子道德經「一生二，二生三，三生萬物」，用以呼應其創作「其從單純東方文化基因出發與當代表達形式相結合」的過程，及有感道生萬物聚散虛實及萬變不離其宗的生命實相。

王懷慶1944年初生於北京，1964年進入中央工藝美術學院，1979畢業於該院研究院。因受業於倡導西方現代主義的吳冠中門下，王懷慶受其影響甚篤。文革期間的艱苦環境中，仍然嚴謹執著的發展出自己獨特的美學觀與藝術性格，成就其當在今中國藝術家中舉足輕重的地位。

王懷慶養成背景是油畫創作，但他所關注的不是繪畫中寫實與再現的問題，而是平面構成與色彩空間的抽象關係。早年王懷慶走訪紹興，為其建築空間與傢俱風格所震撼，黑白對應的節奏與張力，成為其爾後沉鬱的風格基調；90年代前後，藝術家作品尺幅與構成氣度上，越發開合自在，而創作語彙更獨立於物象之外；近年來的作品，藝術家更廣納筆墨精神與東方哲思入畫，更嘗試以雕塑物件詮釋空間的虛實對位。

「一生萬:王懷慶藝術展」包含藝術家早中晚期40餘件作品，期能詳實介紹其創作脈絡。
