本書收錄八篇經典篇章，分為「藝術與理論」、「意識與身體」與「機器與計算」三個單元，試圖由這三個面向為技術與藝術的命題開啟反思的距離。這些篇章著述發表於1810年至1996年之間，出自不同的領域，觸及了繪畫、雕塑、音樂、劇場、舞蹈等藝術領域，更涉及了計算、測量、模擬、操偶、製鞋、造橋等技術。它們似乎不直接討論「藝術」，然而，它們對於「技術」的深刻討論卻能讓人重新觀察藝術與技術的關係，讓人重新省察「藝術」與「技術」的意義。八篇經典篇章皆為全新譯本，由原文版本直接中譯，經詳細考據、審訂；此外，本書特別安排深度導論與單元導讀，期提供讀者閱讀思索技術議題的起點與路徑。

謝杰廷Chieh-Ting Hsieh

德國柏林自由大學戲劇學系博士，國立政治大學傳播學院助理教授。臺灣當代文化實驗場《譯譜者》、《污痕結構學》等研究／藝術計畫主持人。近年發表作品有《月照無眠》、《山中對話》。近年研究興趣為舞蹈與音樂的力動與身體、記譜／記寫、以及文化技術與媒介哲學。與張芳薇編著《當代文本：展演》。

李立鈞Li-Chun Lee

德國柏林洪堡大學文化學系博士，國立清華大學藝術與設計學系專任助理教授。研究興趣含括圖像理論、圖像史、文化技術、媒介，關注影像跨領域、跨時代的關係。主要研究領域為圖像理論、圖像史、文化技術與媒介學。曾擔任臺北市立美術館「在夾縫中行走」展覽研究（2022-2023）。著有《建構身體：中西醫學中的身體圖像》，編著《當代文本：檔案》等書。

孫松榮Song-Yong Sing

法國巴黎第十大學表演藝術研究所電影學博士，國立臺北藝術大學藝術跨域研究所教授兼所長。近期曾任「行者十步：蔡明亮」、「1980年代至1990年代臺灣錄像藝術的黎明」、「一一重構：楊德昌」等展覽的策展人。主要研究領域為現當代華語電影、電影與當代藝術、當代法國電影理論與美學等。著有《入鏡丨出境：蔡明亮的影像藝術與跨界實踐》與《臺灣影形力：六個尋找電影的跨域影像藝術》，編著《蔡明亮的十三張臉：華語電影研究的當代面孔》與《未來的光陰：給臺灣新電影四十年的備忘錄》等書。
