Works by Anne Carnein in the Museum Kloster Bentlage permanent collection: This is an encounter between an art that arrives as light and airy - self-evident and natural, while at the same time showing great complexity - with the centuries-old material tradition of the monastic culture of the members of the order of the holy cross. This is also an encounter between the dimensions and proportions of Gothic architecture and the three-dimensional thinking of a sculptor who deploys texti- le materials, without seeing her sculptures as textile art. And this - we might add - is as if the historical cultural landscape of Bentlage were not only "looking in" at the window of the museum in the typical fashion, but greening and blossoming in conquest of the interior.
